$12,575 Raised
Following up on the incredible success of the inaugural FEARLESS motorcycle photography exhibit, the second instalment FEARLESS II: Face North continued the tradition by raising $12,575 for Diabetes Canada. Surpassing last year’s total, this brings the amount raised to $22,770 thanks to the generous support of sponsors and event attendees.
FEARLESS II: Face North was all about celebrating Canadian diversity and individuality. Shot and curated by professional photographer Dan Lim / The Moto Foto, the exclusive one night exhibit showcased a recent body of work featuring unique images of Canadians with their motorcycles. Each one-of-a-kind large format photo was made available to event attendees by silent auction. Lim’s son was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes at a very young age, making Diabetes Canada a natural choice for a beneficiary to the exhibit’s proceeds.
Conceived in the spirit of Canada as a mosaic of multiculturalism, each piece of art was shot with its subject facing due North to create a sense of uniformity and symbolism. Naturally diffused by the sky, northern light is consistent and never creates a direct light source. Each unique print was conceptualized as a diptych, where the subject and their bike are positioned next to each other to demonstrate the connection between human persona and personalized machine.
Hosted at District 28 in downtown Toronto, the evening featured an exclusive art exhibit and silent auction, Jumpstart motorcycle simulator care of Pfaff Harley-Davidson and live tattoo demonstration by Adrenaline Tattoo.
